Araucana Eggs

This rare breed originated in Chile and are known for their ear tufts and tails. The modern araucana, however, which is the North American evolution of the breed are known for being rumpless and without a tail.
The unique qualities of these breed are what distinguishes them above the rest and what also makes them difficult to breed. It has been found that the gene for ear tufts has a lethal effect on the species and cause a large number of Araucana's to die before they are even hatched.
When it comes to Araucana eggs, they are often blue in color, which is why this breed is often confused to the Ameraucana and the Easter Eggers.
